# Password and sign-in

You can sign in to 42min with an email and password, or with **Google** or
**Microsoft**. Password settings live on [**Profile → Security**](/360/profile).

## Email + password

- Change your password on [**Profile → Security**](/360/profile) — you'll confirm your
current password and set a new one.
- Forgot it? Use the **reset** link on the [sign-in page](/360/login) and follow the
  email.
- Passwords are stored hashed (never in plain text) on 42min's side.

## Google / Microsoft sign-in

- You can create or access your account with **Google** or
  **[Microsoft](/help/integrations/microsoft-outlook)**.
- An account that *only* uses Google/Microsoft sign-in has **no password** — that's
normal; there's nothing to change on the Security tab in that case. (Connecting Google
or Microsoft for *calendar* access is a separate thing — see
  [Google Calendar](/help/integrations/google-calendar).)

## How to do it

1. **Change password:** [**Profile → Security**](/360/profile) → enter current + new
   password → save.
2. **Reset a forgotten password:** the [sign-in page](/360/login) → "forgot password"
   → check your email.
3. **Switch to Google/Microsoft sign-in:** use the corresponding button on the sign-in
   page with the matching email.

## Common pitfalls

- **"There's no change-password option."** Your account is Google- or Microsoft-only —
it has no password by design; sign in with that provider.
- **Calendar vs sign-in.** Connecting Google for your calendar (Availability → Calendar)
doesn't change how you log in, and vice versa — they're independent.
- **Reset email not arriving.** Check the address you used and your spam folder; reset
links also expire, so request a fresh one if it's been a while.
