# Recurring meetings

A [one-on-one](/help/event-types/one-on-one) or
[round-robin](/help/event-types/round-robin) event type can repeat on a
pattern instead of booking one meeting at a time. Turn it on from the event
type's **Recurring** tab, between Limits & Buffers and Booking Form, and pick
who's allowed to start a series.

## The three modes

- **Off** (the default). Every booking is a single meeting; nothing here
  applies.
- **Invitees can book a repeating series.** The booking page offers a
  repeat control alongside the time picker, and a host, manager, or admin can
  also start a series on the invitee's behalf from the
  [Meetings page](/help/workspace/meetings#recurring-meetings).
- **Only my team can create a series.** The invitee never sees a repeat
  control; a series can only be started from the Meetings page.

This tab isn't available on [group](/help/event-types/group) event types.

## The pattern

Two shapes, chosen when the series is created:

- **Weekly**, every 1 to 8 weeks, on one or more weekdays.
- **Monthly on the same day of the month** as the first occurrence. A month
  too short for that day falls back to its last day instead of skipping the
  month, so a series starting January 31 runs January 31, February 28,
  March 31, April 30.

**Max meetings per series** (1 to 42, default 42) sets the most a series on
this event type may ever book. It's a ceiling for new series; lowering it
later doesn't shorten one already running.

## What the invitee sees

When the mode is "Invitees can book a repeating series," picking a time on
the booking page also shows how many meetings to book and the resulting
dates. The calendar only offers times that stay free for every date the
series would use, not only the first, so picking a start time never leaves a
later occurrence double-booked. One confirmation email covers the whole
series, listing every date; after that, each meeting can be rescheduled or
canceled on its own like any other booking.

The first meeting still has to fall inside your normal minimum notice and
date range, exactly like a single booking. Later meetings don't: they're
placed purely by the pattern, so a weekly series can run for months even
when your booking window is 15 days. That's deliberate, since reaching
further out than a one-off booking is the point of a series.

## Creating and managing a series

Starting, pausing, resuming, ending, editing, or handing a series to another
host all happen from the
[Meetings page's Recurring tab](/help/workspace/meetings#recurring-meetings),
not from the event type itself. The same automation is available through the
[public API](/help/api/series) and [your AI assistant](/help/ai-assistants/what-your-assistant-can-do#recurring-meetings).

## Common pitfalls

- **No control on the booking page.** Either the mode is "Only my team," so
  invitees never see one, or it's still "Off."
- **Group event types don't have this tab.** Recurring isn't available on
  [group](/help/event-types/group) event types.
- **A managed event type's tab is disabled.** Like every other setting on a
  managed event type, recurring is set once in the
  [template](/help/team-and-admin/templates) and inherited, not edited per
  instance.
- **Wanting more meetings than the cap allows.** The invitee's own number can
  never exceed "Max meetings per series"; raise the cap first if a longer
  series is genuinely needed.
