# What is 42min?

42min is a free online meeting‑scheduling platform — share a link, let people pick a
time that works for both of you, and the meeting lands on everyone's calendar
automatically. It's a full‑featured alternative to tools like Calendly, Cal.com,
TidyCal, and SimplyBook.me, with no artificial limits on bookings, event types, or
team members.

## What it is

At its core, 42min turns your availability into a public booking page. You define
*when* you're free and *what* kinds of meetings you offer; invitees pick a slot; 42min
handles the confirmation emails, calendar invites, reminders, and follow‑ups.

It also goes further than a basic scheduler:

- [**Routing forms**](/help/routing-forms/overview) — qualify leads with a short
questionnaire and send them to the right person, page, or message based on their
  answers.
- [**Round‑robin event types**](/help/event-types/round-robin) — share one link for a
whole team; 42min distributes bookings fairly across available members.
- **Workflows** — automated email/SMS reminders and follow‑ups before and after
  meetings.
- **Multi‑tenant by design** — organizations, admins, groups, branding, and
per‑plan limits, so it works for a solo consultant or a sales team.

## When to use it

Reach for 42min when you want to:

- Stop the back‑and‑forth of "what time works for you?"
- Publish a booking page for sales calls, demos, interviews, or office hours.
- Route inbound leads to the right rep automatically.
- Give a team a single scheduling link with fair load distribution.

## How to do it

1. **Create your account** at [42min.us](https://42min.us/360/signup) and confirm your email.
2. [**Connect your calendar**](/360/availability?tab=calendar) (Google Calendar or
Microsoft / Outlook) so 42min knows when you're busy and can write events back —
   [details](/help/getting-started/connecting-your-calendar).
3. [**Set your availability**](/360/availability?tab=schedules) — create a schedule
with the hours you're open for meetings —
   [details](/help/getting-started/setting-your-availability).
4. [**Create an event type**](/360/events?new=1) — for example a 42‑minute intro
call — and customize the booking form —
   [details](/help/getting-started/your-first-event-type).
5. **Share your link** — `42min.us/your-username` or a direct event link — and start
   taking bookings.

New here? The fastest path to a working booking page is: create account → connect
Google Calendar → create one event type. Everything else (routing forms, workflows,
teams) can come later.

## Common pitfalls

- **No calendar connected.** Without a connected calendar, 42min can't detect
conflicts — you may get double‑booked. Connect Google Calendar early.
- **Availability looks empty.** If your booking page shows no slots, check the
schedule attached to that event type, your minimum‑notice setting, and your date
  range.
- **Wrong time zone.** Slots are shown in the invitee's time zone, but your schedule
is defined in *yours* — make sure your profile time zone is correct.
