# Google Meet

42min can attach a **Google Meet** video link to every booking — a fresh, unique link
per meeting, included in the confirmation email and the calendar invite. It's not a
separate connection: it rides on your [Google Calendar](/help/integrations/google-calendar)
connection and is switched on by setting an event type's location to Google Meet.

## What it does

- For an event type whose **location** is Google Meet, each new booking gets its own
  Google Meet conference link.
- The link appears on the [confirmation](/help/booking-pages/confirmations-reschedule-cancel)
email, the calendar event, and the booking details.
- Other location types — phone, in person, custom URL, "ask the invitee" — don't
  generate a Meet link.

## How to do it

1. Make sure you have a [connected Google account](/help/integrations/google-calendar)
(the Meet link is created through it).
2. Open the event type ([Event Types](/360/events)) and on the **General** tab set
**Meeting Type** to **Google Meet** — see
   [the editor overview](/help/event-types/one-on-one#the-event-type-editor).
3. Save. New bookings on that event type will include a Meet link; existing bookings
   are unaffected.

## Common pitfalls

- **No link in the email.** The event type's location must be Google Meet *and* the
host must have a connected Google account — both are required.
- **Expecting a link on a phone/in-person event type.** Those locations don't produce a
Meet link by design; switch the location if you want one.
- **Microsoft users.** If you're on [Microsoft / Outlook](/help/integrations/microsoft-outlook)
rather than Google, use [Microsoft Teams](/help/integrations/microsoft-teams) for that
  event type instead.
