    What is round robin scheduling?

Round robin scheduling lets a team share a single booking link. Invitees see the combined availability of every host, and 42min decides who actually takes each booking — spreading the load evenly instead of piling it onto one person. It's the standard way sales, support, and recruiting teams handle inbound meetings without a scheduling coordinator.

Set Type to Round Robin and pick a team — its members become the rotating hosts. Everything else works like a one-on-one event type.

    Why teams use round robin

    FAIR BY DEFAULT

    Even distribution, automatically

Each booking goes to the available host with the fewest recent meetings. No spreadsheets, no manual assignment — the load spreads itself across the team over time.

    ONE LINK

    Combined team availability

Invitees see a slot whenever any host is free, so your team's open times are pooled into a single booking page. More coverage means fewer back-and-forths and faster bookings.

    ZERO LEAD LEAKAGE

    Every slot has an owner

The moment someone books, 42min assigns a specific host and puts the meeting on their calendar. Nobody wonders whose call it is — and no inbound demo slips through the cracks.

    FREE FOR TEAMS

    No per-seat team plan

Calendly and Cal.com lock round robin behind paid team tiers. On 42min it's part of the free plan, for every member you invite — no upgrade, no card.

    // UNDER THE HOOD

    How 42min assigns each booking

A round-robin event type is attached to a team — a named group of users in your organization. The booking page shows a slot whenever any team member is free for it, so invitees always see your team's fullest possible availability.

When someone books a slot, 42min assigns it to the team member who is available for that slot and has the fewest recent meetings. Over time, that keeps bookings distributed evenly across the team. The chosen host gets the calendar event; the invitee gets their confirmation as usual.

One thing to watch: a host who hasn't connected their calendar will look the most available and can pull more than their share. Make sure every host has their calendar connected and a schedule set.

    // SETUP

Set up round robin in 4 steps

    01

    Create a team

In Admin Center → Teams, make a named group and add the members who should rotate as hosts. Round robin is attached to a team, so this comes first.

    02

Add a Round Robin event type

New Event Type → set Type to Round Robin, then pick your team from the Team dropdown that appears.

    03

    Set the details & schedule

Name, description, duration, meeting type, and the availability schedule — exactly like a one-on-one event type. Make sure every host has their calendar connected so availability is accurate.

    04

    Share the team link

Save and share the team-level link (42min.us/team/<team>/<event>). Invitees book once; 42min picks the host.

    When to use round robin

Any time you want one public link but several interchangeable hosts.

    Sales & demos

A single “Book a demo” link for the whole sales team. Inbound leads get the next available rep, balanced evenly — no round-robin bot, no per-seat bill.

    Support & onboarding

Share incoming onboarding or support calls across a pod. Coverage is pooled, and the load stays even without a manager assigning tickets by hand.

    Recruiting & interviews

Let candidates book a screening slot that any available interviewer can take, so scheduling never bottlenecks on one person's calendar.

    Consulting & services

Interchangeable specialists share one intake link. Clients book, and the next free consultant is assigned automatically.

    Round robin scheduling FAQ

Round robin scheduling shares one booking link across a team and automatically assigns each meeting to a different host, spreading bookings evenly. Instead of everyone having a separate link, invitees see the team's combined availability and 42min decides who takes each booking.

Round robin, free for your team
